The Urban Recovery track, part of the Beirut Urban Lab at the American University of Beirut, is devoted to the question of recovery of post-conflict urban environments. The Urban Recovery track piloted its first capacity building workshop funded by the Barakat Trust in the UK and the Ford Foundation in the USA. The workshop took the city of Aleppo in Syria as its site of inquiry facing protracted displacement, massive physical destruction, as well as limited humanitarian aid. It was directed by Howayda Al-Harithy and coordinated by Najmeh Viki.
