UPDATE 13/1/2020 - 2020 BUSHFIRES ON KANGAROO ISLAND
Sadly, the recent bushfires on Kangaroo Island have severely impacted this project and the Green Carpenter Bee. This bee's last 2 remaining habitats (Kangaroo Island, SA and the Blue Mountains, NSW) have both been seriously impacted by this year's fires. This is likely to put the remaining populations on the verge of extinction. Our conservation efforts will now need to be stepped up if we are to be able to save this iconic Australian bee species.

In 2007, bush fires devastated one of the last remaining refuges for the Green Carpenter Bee in Southern Australia. Researchers are providing alternate nesting materials to bridge the gap until natural materials regrow.
Wheen Bee Foundation is backing this innovative project and running a campaign to raise $50,000 to ensure enough nesting substrate materials are available to bring this iconic bee back from the brink of extinction. For every tax deductible donation you make between 10th November 2019 and 25th December 2019, Flow will match your contribution dollar for dollar up to $10,000.
