트럼프 反이민 조치 '급제동'…美법원 '전국서 잠정중단' 첫결정
The American Customs Agency says it has told the U.S. airlines that they can resume boarding banned travelers after a federal judge in Seattle temporarily blocked President Trump's executive order.
The agency told the airlines that they can operate as they had before last week's order,...which banned travelers from seven mainly Muslim countries for 90 days.
The Justice Department now plans to file an emergency stay of the ruling.
The White House says President Trump's directive is "lawful and appropriate".
In a statement,... it said the order is intended to protect the homeland and he has the constitutional authority and responsibility to protect the American people.
The executive order triggered an international backlash from leaders around the world and caused chaos at airports across the United States.
