Liquid silicon rubber works a bit like two-part epoxy; the components are mixed in the machine then pumped into a mould before setting.
The mixes can be customised for different hardness, colours, specific resistances, and more.
LSR is a thermo-set plastic, so the moulds actually need to be hot in order to set.
We make our own moulds in-house using the CNC machines, so we had to engineer them to accommodate the heating elements and a thermocouple to achieve precise temperatures.
LSR is high grade material, and we’re looking forward to seeing them on our Cranio devices soon!
