On July 4th 1944, 1st Lt Edwin H.Good landed on Utah Beach with the 13rd Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division. Soon after, his men started to march towards the city of La Haye du Puits, Normandy that was held by the 90th and 82nd Division. During the month of June 1944, the two units had already suffered many casualties in previous combat. However, the men of the 8th Division were fresh from the States and never experienced any action in the past.
