This topic seems to either confuse a lot of people or make them mad! It is actually VERY simple. A full cord is 4' high x 4' wide and 8' long of stacked wood or 128 cubic feet ...3 rows of 16" pieces and 1/3 or one row is also a face cord also about 42.666 cubic feet. If this upsets you...you might live in an area that uses different terms. Some say RIC, truck load, ROW, RANK or some other regional term. In a lot of North America a face cord is a VERY common term. Most of the rest of the world uses cubic meters and one cubic meter is about 35 CUBIC FEET and a face cord is about 1.208 cubic feet.
