Rogers Jungle garden is thriving in mid summer, we see two varieties of Yucca bursting into flower, but the main focus of Rogers attention is the Tree Fern (Dicksonia Antarctica).
Roger is trimming off the old Tree fern leaves as they are turning brown, and as soon as they are removed we can see the fresh green arching fronds in their full glory - beautiful !
Roger then shows us how he waters the tree fern - pouring water into the crown of the plant and allowing the water to run down through the trunk of the fern where there are roots which can such up some of the water as well as the roots below ground.Roger explains that he has added some balanced fertilizer (with a slightly higher Potash level to help toughen up the ferns leaves into autumn and winter)
