#Stress #Digestion
Stress happens when a combination of feelings like anxiety, fear, depression, frustration, etc take over. Different people are stressed due to different factors. Our digestive system and all the internal organs are controlled by our brain. Our mind is nothing but what our brain thinks. It is not nearer to heart as the popular perception goes. The nerves and blood vessels that supply the digestive system, its functions like secretion of enzymes and hormones, all are controlled by Entric Nervous System. This Entric Nervous System is in turn controlled by our brain only.
Less hunger, voracious hunger, nausea, a sense of feeling full, are some of the digestive issues. One of the main reasons for stress is GERD or reflux. When a person is stressed, more cortisol is produced. This excess cortisol creates more problems. Constipation, diarrhea, diseases of the colon, are some of the digestive issues that can be caused as a result of stress.
