Half sunk! Flash floods even in Madrid, Spain due to Hurricane Dana.
Heavy rain hit widespread flooding in parts of Spain. Large-scale flooding struck near Tarragona. As a result, streets and fields were flooded. Sudden downpours have turned the streets into rivers of mud. Most of the rain brought by Hurricane Dana.
The storm affected almost the entire country. At the same time, the heaviest rains were recorded in the provinces of Cadiz, Tarragona and Castello. Residents had to hide from the water on the roofs of houses.
Cars floated through the streets like boats. Flash floods have led to the closure of the Madrid metro and high-speed rail lines. There was a record amount of rainfall - 100 liters per square meter. A huge amount of rural land was affected.
Water flows washing away cars and garbage cans in the regions of Madrid, Castile-La Mancha, Catalonia and Valencia. Hail has also been recorded in many areas. In Aldea del Fresno, several bridges collapsed, and floods washed away many cars. Streams of water demolished even houses. Helicopters were sent to rescue people who were seeking shelter on their rooftops in downtown Toledo.
More than a hundred thousand people were left without electricity. A red alert was declared, and rescue teams began to eliminate the consequences of the floods.
