David, former co founder singer/writer/guitarist of prog-rock band Ambrosia,
and Alan of Alan Parsons Project, began working together when in 1975 Alan mixed Ambrosia’s debut album including first hit single “Holdin On To Yesterday” - Grammy-nominated for Best Engineered Album.
Then in 1976 Alan produced & engineered Ambrosia’s “Somewhere I’ve Never Traveled” LP, also Grammy-nominated. At the same time, Alan, via David’s introduction to Russ Regan (President of 20th Cent. Fox Records) recorded his first Alan Parsons Project LP classic: “Tales of Mystery and
Imagination” on which Ambrosia performed “The Raven”.
Prior to that, Alan engineered & mixed Pink Floyd’s enduring classic “Dark Side of the Moon” and earlier, as a staff engineer at Abbey Road, he worked with Beatles on “Let it Be” and their rooftop concert - you’ll catch a glimpse of Alan in Peter Jackson’s upcoming Beatle film “Get Back”.
David: “Alan is one of my life’s most cherished friends for going on five decades, and along with all of the music, we simply have enjoyed being there for each other all of this time; the pandemic makes you appreciate dear friends even more.
"We chose this particular song to take you back to a simpler time, when two friends would pull guitars out and sing a Beatles song in 2-part harmony for the pure joy of it.”
