At a mere age of 20 years old, Alexis embarked on global odysseys in state service, braving the Crimean War and defying odds even after losing both of his legs. His seafaring prowess earned him the title of sea captain and accolades as Knight of the Legion of Honor. Remarkably, he graced this world for 104 years, until 1928, when he passed away.
Upon his passing, his eleven children inherited the chateau, yet evidence suggests it lay largely untouched, preserving its vivid past. An ancient letter, dated 1821, predates Alexis's birth, entwining deeper the castle's enigma.
