context (for ppl who don't know, semi spoilers(?) for titan's curse) : In titan's curse (pjo book) percy is running away from monsters and bumps into Rachel. (rachel Elizabeth fucking Dare, coolest red head around tbh) and percy got startled and tried to swing his sword at her. but she's mortal so the sword goes through her instead of spliting her in half. this is at the hover damn when we first meet rachel in gr books
