Growing up in rural Canada, Wendy Griffin spent her childhood out in nature. Whether it was out in the forest or in the craft store in town, she created art from every source available to her. Greatly inspired by a love for animals and an appreciation for the beauty of the countryside. A self-taught painter and accomplished thespian. At 21 she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Wendy worked for several years acting and modeling. Once again Wendy was influenced, but this time by Hollywood's glamour and beauty. With her experience and love of nature and the influence of the entertainment business she had an intense desire to create. Wendy's passion for fine art re-asserted itself, and she began to formally study various incarnations of painting, sculpture, metalwork, and jewelry making. These studies have led her, literally, around the globe, where she has attended the Saci School of Art in Florence, Italy, and made journey's to England, Japan, and Spain to research and study indigenous fine arts. Continuing her education domestically, Wendy attended continuing education classes at Otis Parsons School of design and later was selected over many applicants to participate in a printmaking study program in Santa Monica, where she spent a year of intensive study under the direction of a master printmaker.
In addition, Wendy is an enthusiastic and accomplished stone sculptor, and it was her fondness for this media, which led her to hand - sculpted jewelry design. Wendy's primary passion, jewelry, allows her to channel her artistic flair and creativity, which produces pieces that reflect and chronicle her spiritual evolution. Her work embodies her eclectic interest in both art and culture, and Wendy's collections contain pieces that manifest Celtic, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and Central American influences. Her work has a tangible, organic quality, and her pieces are truly timeless. True to her spiritual inclinations, Wendy says a prayer before she begins work on each piece, and she believes everything she creates is divinely inspired. Her work has attracted many celebrity clients and has placed her jewelry on television & print media. Wendy hopes people who wear her creations are reminded of the divine beauty within themselves.
