Today we're block printing fabric. If you've ever wanted to print your own fabric, I'll walk you through the whole process from tracing a design to carving a block to creating a simple pattern repeat.
This is one of my favorite techniques for making an ordinary piece of fabric something really special. Here are some supplies you'll need:
+Carving tools: [ Ссылка ]
+Moo carve professional carving block: [ Ссылка ]
+graphite transfer paper: [ Ссылка ]
+tracing stylus (a pencil will work too): [ Ссылка ]
+piece of glass or plexiglas--whatever flat washable surface you have in your house
+block printing or screen printing ink for fabric: [ Ссылка ]
+brayer: [ Ссылка ]
+fabric: natural fibers like linen, cotton, and rayon work the best
My blockprinted dress uses a modified Burdastyle 11-2010-117 cocktail dress bodice.
