I developed Arduino based Battery discharger and capacity tester. This device has precise performance, excellent interface and stylish design.
The principle is as follows,
1. Set one AA battery and apply a load with a 1Ω resistor (3W).
2. Measure the current with the current measurement module(INA219).
3. Calculate the voltage (Ohm's law: current A ☓ resistance Ω = voltage V)
4. Display voltage and current on the screen.
5. Display the voltage change as a graph.
6. Display the cumulative current on the screen (= battery capacity).
7. When the final voltage (set to 0.95V) is reached, the current is cut by relay.
I tested following Ni-MH batteries in this video.
Panasonic eneloop
DAISO(100 yen shop) cheap battery
BTY 3000 HR6 MIGNON
