Ontario Premier Doug Ford on Wednesday announced a proposal for four new subway lines that would help connect Etobicoke, Mississauga and Pearson International Airport
The premier said the Eglinton Crosstown project would be extended to the west and be built underground. Subway lines for Etobicoke, Mississauga and Pearson International Airport would be part of the project.
Ford said he had 100 per cent confidence in the federal government to fund 40 per cent of the project in what he called the "most ambitious transit project this country has ever seen."
Ford also fielded questions on the COVID-19 pandemic, saying his government is going to follow the guidelines of health experts when asked about mandatory masks for children in kindergarten.
Ontario reported 102 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Wednesday, bringing the provincial total to 40,972.
