Veteran Journalist and Scholar, Syed Ghulam Sarwar, tells us about an interesting meeting he had with Allama Mashriqi after his release from Delhi jail, where he and other Khaksars were imprisoned, beaten (several of them were beaten to death), and kept under extreme harsh conditions for months during the partition of India.
Allama Mashriqi had disbanded the Khaksar Movement then. The announcement was not made by Allama himself, but his message was read by a Khaksar named Master Khan Gul. Sarwar Shah sahib told us that Master Khan Gul himself was an eloquent speaker, who had later joined Suhrawardy’s Awami League.
In this brief meeting, Allama sahib’s assertion rings true that once a nation is under the collective hell of slavery, misery etc., then each individual of that nation is impacted by those conditions. A moment of Khaksari fearlessness was displayed by Shah sahib (Syed Ghulam Sarwar) in front of his own leader, same fearlessness with which he lived his life throughout. Great men!
