Vlog 5: Repairing John’s 2003 G35 Coupe. John complained that his VQ35DE has acceleration Hesitation that won’t go past 2,000RPMs, Misfires at idle and accelerating, knock sensor & maf sensor trouble codes.

John was complaining that his Automatic 2003 G35 wouldn’t Accelerate at all above 2,000 rpms when driving and his VQ35DE would tremble both at idle and when accelerating. Pulled all stored trouble codes and attacked first the misfire codes by starting first with the ignition system starting with his Coilpacks & spark plugs.

Found a couple coilpacks submerged in oil coming for seeping failed O-Rings from the valve covers. Oil could cause the spark to not properly be delivered and cause a bogging/misfire sensation.

Come across some damaged & broken coilpacks that had split and where stuck in spark plug cylinders.

Removed spark plugs that hadn’t been changed in over 150k miles, spark plugs had electrodes worn down with the gap expanded resulting in multiple cylinder misfire combining with the failing coilpacks.

Removed & replaces all 6 spark plugs and coilpacks to repair p0300 - p0306 multiple cylinder misfires. Codes cleared but will eventually return if valve cover & valve cover gaskets aren’t replaced due to oil consumption coming from valve cover grommets.

Lack of acceleration, and rpm not going past 2000k rpms linked to an extremely dirty clogged up MAF sensor. Attempted to clean with electrical cleaner spray and was able to remove a large amount of debris but sensors lack or maintenance wasn’t salvageable. Tested with a known good sensor to properly assure sensor needed replacing and it ran perfect with it.
