We really hate being the bearer of bad news, but tragically, Dustin Diamond, best known for playing Screech on Saved By The Bell has just passed away. The news broke back in January that the 44-year-old actor had been diagnosed with stage four cancer. Since they didn't catch it until late, It didn't take long for cancer to spread throughout his body.

The cancer diagnosis was a complete surprise for everyone. His fans and family were in a state of shock when they found out he was essentially dying. Diamond's medical problems began when he developed a large lump in his throat. Sadly, he acted slowly and gave the cancer time to spread. He reportedly tried his best to ignore the tumor at first, but he couldn't act like it didn't exist when it started giving him major trouble. When he was finally admitted to the hospital, he was fading in and out of consciousness, feeling sleepy and lethargic. He sadly also had shingles at the time and was in a lot of pain.

After running various blood tests and doing scans, doctors found the metastasized cancer had already spread throughout his body. Besides undergoing chemotherapy and hoping for the best, there was very little that doctors could do for him.

The timing of this diagnosis was also rather unfortunate for his acting career. Even though Diamond was not a part of Peacock's recent Saved By The Bell reboot, his people were in talks with producers of the show to potentially reprise his role for the series tentative second season.

In light of his passing, this video is going to take a look at Dustin Diamond's turbulent career. His story is complete with plenty of highs and lows. Unfortunately, his Saved By The Bell days represented the height of his acting career. Afterward, he struggled to find roles that would pay the bells.

He appeared in reality TV shows, published an inflammatory 'tell-all' book, and even self-directed a controversial sex-tape in hopes of rejuvenating his career. Sadly, he never was able to overcome his 'Screech' label and instead spent the remainder of his life doing stand-up.
