(9 Jul 2019) Angry mourners on Tuesday blocked a main road in the capital of Baghlan province in the north of Afghanistan after an airstrike killed seven members of one family.
The villagers from Kotuk Khiel carried the remains of the dead - six children and a woman - to Pul-e-Kumri where they staged a sit-in on the highway.
A relative of the victims said the airstrike struck their home earlier in the day, wounding the father, and killing his three sons, his three daughters and his wife.
According to the provincial council chief, the airstrike was carried out by "foreigners", a reference to the United States.
There was no immediate comment from the US military to a request from The Associated Press.
