On site with electrician Matt setting the overload on a direct online starter (DOL). If you haven't got access to the data plate of the motor or load you are connecting to this method can be used to workout the current being drawn. This method needs to be carried out by a competent person and under controlled conditions. Using a clip on ammeter the full load current can be measure then the overload can be adjusted.
