Izh-49 is a middle-class road bike, designed for driving on roads with different surfaces with only dirver or with a passenger as well. It was produced by Izhevsk Machine Building Plant from 1951 to 1958. In addition to single motorcycles, an experimental batch released bikes with side trailers, which is also shown in the video.
The production of side trailers was organized at the Vyatsko-Polyansky engineering plant in 1956 and production continued until 1958.
The motorcycle is equipped with a single-cylinder, two-stroke engine of air cooling with a reciprocating loop two-jet blowing, with the preparation of the working mixture in the carburetor and its ignition in the cylinder from an electric spark.
