Tell me I'm not the only one who blanks out and panics when I have to make a phone call 😅 in any language, actually...there's always this adrenaline rush and I'd rather not call strangers if I don't have to. 🙈
Anyway, the context of the video is: 🇩🇪 Germans answer the phone with hello + saying their last name (in formal situations).
👉 ♀️Frau/♂️Herr + last name -- eg. Frau Tjoa, Herr Müller
🇮🇩 In Indonesia, we always use the first names, and last names are rarely used even in formal situations, except when the full name is asked. (In some cases, people don't even officially have family names 💁🏻♀️).
👉 ♀️Bu/♂️Pak + first name -- eg. Bu Genesia, Pak Ben
So saying my last name is out of habit, especially during phone calls. 😅
How do you answer the phone? 👀
