A 38-year-old man has been killed and a female has received significant lower limb injuries after a motorcycle accident in Sydney's east today.
At around 1.10pm, police and paramedics responded to calls for assistance after a motorcycle collided with a vehicle leaving a driveway on Bellevue Rd in Bellevue Hill.
Both motorcycle riders were thrown from their vehicle on impact.
The motorcycle ended up around 40 metres from the point of collision.
NSW Ambulance assigned a number of intensive care paramedics to the scene.
The male suffered a cardiac arrest as he was being transported to St Vincent's hospital.
Doctors worked tirelessly to save the man's life, however despite their efforts, the male passed away shortly after his arrival at hospital.
The female pillion passenger suffered serious lower limb injures and is undergoing treatment at St Vincent's hospital. She is understood to be in a critical condition.
Police closed Bellevue Rd in both directions whilst accident investigators conducted their enquires.
