Brigadier General Charles McGee looks back at his military career, particularly his time with the Tuskegee Airmen – African American military pilots who served in segregated Army Air Corps units during World War II. General McGee later served with the Air Force in Korea and Vietnam and, in total, flew more than 400 combat missions across three wars. He received a post-service promotion from colonel to brigadier general in 2020 at the age of 100. The Friends of the National World War II Memorial hosted this discussion.
