The one-hit wonder, Bill Rizer from Contra makes his stand.

As his status in his games would imply, unlike all other characters, Bill can't collect mushrooms, meaning he always dies in one hit.
No ammo to collect, no special attacks to use, he just runs and shoots. He's a glass cannon of sorts.
The way he moves around in the air means you'll have to reposition him during platforming challenges.
The Machine Gun is a simple, stronger version of the regular attack. You can use it if you've got nothing better.
The Flame Thrower can damage Bullet Bills but its erratic pattern means it'll miss enemies way too much for comfort.
The Laser is good for quick and continuous damage. Just make sure it's done hitting the enemies before you fire another one.
The Spread Gun is a joy to use and probably Bill's best weapon. It will wreak havoc on all the enemies that dare stand in your way.
Overall, Bill's varied weaponry makes him good for combat but his subpar mobility makes the worst parts of the game EVEN WORSE. I don't recommend using him for some of the later stages unless you're challenging yourself. (But feel free to use him to destroy everything with the Spread Gun early on)

This was (and probably will always be) the hardest, slowest and most frustrating run so far. Contra's status as a hardcore game don't lie. As I said, his glass cannon tendencies make the hardest parts even worse. With two whole Game Overs, these runs can only go up from here.
