As part of the SafeGo project (Seismic Monitoring, Design and Strengthening For thE GrOningen Region) an extensive experimental campaign was undertaken at BuildinG (www.building.nl), the experimental facilities of Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, the Netherlands.

Alongside with the SafeGo project we tested different retrofit solutions for masonry structures in order to address the induced seismicity problems in the Groningen region. In the video you can see out of plane bending tests on masonry walls.

The experimental campaign also consisted of:
• Full scale shake table tests on a two-storey frame
• In plane tests on masonry wallets
• Tests of timber joists connections
• Companion tests (tension and compression on brick and mortar specimens, shear tests on triplets, and bond wrench tests)
