This is Gallery Mac in Kiaf.
.I would like to introduce a work that seduces the audience.
Q: Briefly describe your work, Please.
A: ( Gallery Mac Curator Kim Jeong Won)
Hello, this work is the work of Myunggyun You
He is a man born in 1962
He has been active in the United States since 2013. He started showing his work a year ago in Korea for the first time.
The material of the work is Manila fiber. Close to natural materials.
The artist has worked for a long time in the United States. Although the appearance of nature is slightly different from that of Korea, the artist received various feelings about life and death there. His work is an art form of that feeling.
Q. Do you call this work installation art?
A. Yes, it is closer to installation art.
Q. is this work sold?
A. We are going to sell. The price is 80 million won.
Q. How many of his works are being exhibited at Kiaf?
A.There are 9 small works hanging here, and a little over 10 pieces, including two large pieces and one small piece, were exhibited on the front.
Q. Now is the time of the Korean art festival.
What are your impressions compared to last year's Kiaf?
A. I have been participating in Kiaf for 15 years. This year is the biggest art fair. There is a lot of anticipation and the atmosphere is festive, so it feels good and fun.
It was the Mackentosh of the Korean art world, the Gallery Mac.
Thank you!
“I began to treasure pieces of the land I was witnessing.
My work has begun to encompass this search and collecting.
I began to think more about how human beings are only a small moment in the history of the earth, compared to the deep evolutionary past of the natural world.”
