Become a Channel Member! [ Ссылка ] Let’s see if I can shoot a Sub-MOA group using my Marlin 336 Lever Action Rifle chambered in 30-30 Winchester and Remington Corelokt 150 grain Soft Point ammo! We’ll also find out what realistic rifle accuracy looks like!
My rifle is a new production (Ruger made) Marlin model 336 Classic chambered in 30-30 Winchester and the scope on my rifle is a Leupold VX3HD 2.5-8x36.
My goal with these Sub-MOA accuracy challenges is two-fold: first, to see if I can shoot Sub-MOA groups with common hunting rifles and ammo from a less than stellar bench, and second, to show people what realistic rifle accuracy truly looks like from common hunting rifles and ammo.
All Sub-MOA accuracy challenges will use a 3-shot group because ammo is expensive, I don’t have all day, and in my experience most people utilize the 3-shot group rather than the 5-shot group. Additionally, not all rifles have a 5-round magazine, but almost all rifles have at least a 3-round magazine.
I’ll be shooting off of a wobbly plastic folding table, sitting on a cheap tri-leg stool with my rifle rested on a height adjustable forend rest attached to a 2x3 lumber base. This is far from a competition bench-rest setup.
The target for all Sub-MOA accuracy challenges is exactly 100 yards away from my position.
All groups are measured with a digital caliper for accuracy.
All videos are filmed in a safe and controlled environment on a private range with all applicable safety precautions by a trained professional.
