Over 100 tonnes of prohibited drugs were torched in Pakistan on Thursday to mark the United Nations' International Day Against Drugs. Drug-burning events were held in various cities including Islamabad, Karachi and Peshawar, as tonnes of drugs confiscated over the past few months were set alight. The International Day Against Drugs was spearheaded by the United Nations in coordination with governments around the world as an annual event for reflection and action on the use of illicit drugs.
