Hello YouTubers .
I hope you are all well and fine .My name is Attila Mathe from Blue Sky Photography ( for those ones who do not know me ) and today I would like to talk to you about a very helpful tactic to obtain the right exposure in very high contrast scenes like winter landscapes or portraits wintertime in the snow or any situation where you get a lot of high contrast in your photos. First of all let`s make it clear that the grey card can be used for two things in photography .
For setting up custom white balance or to get the correct exposure . Although some photographers will argue that the grey card is not for white balance but only for getting the right exposure. In my experience it works fine both ways . I like to set my white balance in Kelvin but setting custom white balance with a grey card is fine as well. If you stay with me I will explain to how to do it and even show you the settings in my Nikon D7200 . I am most certainly sure that you can find the same settings in other camera brands as well ( like Canon or Pentax or Sony etc ) even if it`s not on the same place like in my Nikon D7200 . I think that every photographer has to understand and practice both the custom white balance and the exposure with grey card because you can find yourself in a situation when it`s lifesaving . So if you want to know more about the custom white balance and exposure with grey card , please stay with me and let`s discuss this in depth.
