After brunch at the wonderful Foxes Café in Carlisle, it's onto Carlisle Castle which is the number one tourist attraction here in Carlisle. You can pay to get into just the castle or an additional fee on top of the castle admission to visit the Military Museum too. If you're an English Heritage member it's free.
We enjoyed pretending we were in Game of Thrones wandering around The Keep before heading around the top of the castle to take in the view of the rest of Carlisle. After that, it was time to take a drive just short of two hours over the border into Glasgow, Scotland.
We planned to have dinner at the Drygate Brewery but sadly, there seemed to be another event on so there was no parking. In hignsight it was probably a good thing, we were really hungry and if it was busy we'd have probably had to wait a long time for food so instead we did the budget and basic thing of going to Morrisons for the most random of dinners before heading back to the hotel ready for a full day of exploring tomorrow!
