Pelican makes a number of great hard shell cases for photographers and videographers, and there are plenty of models to choose from. And while the Pelican 1510 has been the most popular Pelican case for a number of years, a similar but yet slightly different 1560 model also exists that offers both advantages and disadvantages compared to the 1510. But which Pelican case of the two is the best option for photo and video use?
In this review, I'll cover both the Pelican 1510 and Pelican 1560 cases and explore which of these two models offer the most features and best benefits over the other. This includes reviewing both cases' specifications and features, also including other similar cases in size and design like the Pelican 1535 Air case. However, I'll also explore two key distinctions between these two cases, that pertain to using them for airline travel, and considerations around storing camera gear. We'll also discuss my preferred divider and lid organizer options for these cases, show realistic examples of what you can store in the cases using my Sony Alpha cameras and Sony G Master and G lenses, and provide a price comparison between the two cases.
Overall, as an owner of both of these Pelican cases, I can say that the 1510 and 1560 are equally good options for photographers and videographers, and your preference in picking one of these over the other will depend on those minor details noted, and which one(s) makes a major difference in your eyes.
Let me know which of these two Pelican cases you prefer, or if you own and prefer any other Pelican models for photo/video use. Also, leave a like and subscribe for more videos coming around gear storage and organization!
