(11 Jul 2014) Crowds gathered to commemorate the 19th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre on Friday, and to bury 175 recently identified victims of the slaughter.
Around 20,000 people assembled at the memorial centre in Potocari, near Srebrenica, to remember the eight thousand Muslim men and boys killed when Serb forces overran the eastern Bosnian town on July 11, 1995.
The remains of Srebrenica victims are still being found in mass graves to this day and are being identified using DNA technology.
The EU's High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Valentin Inzko, who was attending Friday's memorial, compared the tragedy of Srebrenica to those which took place at Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Auschwitz and Dachau during World War II.
Amongst those laying wreaths at the memorial were Women in Black - a Serbian NGO from Belgrade - and members of the Bosnian Presidency.
