The Chicago Cubs have blown another game. No surprise. As has been the case in most of the painful losses during this down stretch, the Cubs received excellent starting pitching from Jameson Taillon, giving the Cubs their MLB leading 17th start allowing no runs.
Sticking on theme, Christopher Morel homered to give the Cubs a 1-0 lead. The Cubs handed the game to the bullpen with a 2-0 lead and by the end of it, Hector Neris had blown his third save and the Cubs had lost 5-2 to Tampa Bay.
Anthony Pasquale and Mick Gillespie talked about the failings of this roster, and who is to blame. They also talked about Pete Crow-Armstrong's electricity, Ben Brown's neck strain and the Cubs' odd choice to once again leave an injured Nico Hoerner on the active roster, this time with Luis Vazquez in Tampa Bay awaiting a call. The pair also got into some of Jed Hoyer's comments about improving internally vs externally.
