Is it too late to stop deadly climate change?

Evidence-based hope suggests not. That’s to say, when we examine what’s going right and the effectiveness of solutions, we begin to understand the whole picture.

What is evidence-based hope? Environmental scholar and author Elin Kelsey describes it as a sense of optimism not rooted in wishful thinking but hope that is based on up-to-date evidence of progress that has already been achieved and amplifying proven solutions.

As much as there are reasons to be anxious, fearful, or sad about climate change, there are similar reasons to feel empowered by meaningful trends and accomplishments that are changing for the better in real-time, and to feel prideful about our role in amplifying their effectiveness. Recognizing both our problems and solutions that are being accomplished is an essential feature of evidence-based hope.

Join our adventure with Dr. Elin Kelsey, the environmental scholar, and author that coined the term, for a day around Monterey to explore local solutions, talk about mental health and climate change, and remember what we’re fighting to protect.
