On December 15th, 2013 war broke out in the South Sudan capital as presidential guards with conflicting loyalties exchanged gunfire. Since then, thousands have been killed and millions displaced especially in the volatile states of Jonglei, Unity and Bentiu. However, the deployment of the UPDF in January 2014 has restored relative peace in the country. Today the Ugandan army marked Tarehe Sita day in Juba.
