So I had just praised Bungie recently for how great Crimson Days sounded, and then only a day or two later, they go out and lock the forums behind a paywall. Its as if either Bungie has no clue what they are doing at any point, or they just don't care about Destiny

I’m really starting to wonder, does Bungie hate destiny and it’s fans? Or are they just this ignorant, I give them the benefit of the doubt from time to time, and I had just praised bungie, because it sounded like the crimson days event would be awesome, and it sounded like bungie, was finally listening to the fans, and realizing, that destiny is in the worst situation its ever been in, with the lowest recorded player counts in franchise history, and a community that feels both betrayed and confused, by what is happening to their beloved universe.
Yet right after I praised bungie, for a small step in the right direction, they just can’t help themselves, and make another incredibly dumb decision, by hiding the bungie forums behind another paywall. Now for people to use and interact with the official forums, they will need to own destiny 2, and to have gotten to at least the farm. So any good PR, and momentum that bungie had stated to gain, in reversing the public’s opinion and view of them, has now been entirely undone, and they have managed to make things even worse for themselves.
Now if I am being completely honest, I don’t think the new forum rules, would have been that big of a deal, had they simply done this during Destiny 1 days, or way before Destiny 2’s launch. I mean it makes sense to a degree, that you only want people criticizing and reviewing the game, who have actually played it or owned it. That’s why I don’t talk about or review PS4 games, because I don’t own a PS4, so my opinion wouldn’t have much validity behind it, but the problem here with bungie and Destiny 2, is that they picked the worst time to implement this change. You don’t restrict people’s ability to communicate, and voice their opinions, during a time when a game is being accused of being nothing more, than a medium of corporate greed, and a game plagued with controversy, microtransactions, and disappointment after disappointment.
At this point the only two views I really see, is one bungie is horrible at decision making, and seems to lack common sense on the PR front, or two, they too hate destiny, and are trying to make sure to curb stomp the game out of existence, and end the series as quickly as possible. I’d like to think that neither view is true, as Destiny has such great potential, and Bungie used to be, one of the most talented developers in the industry, as evident by the power, and strength of the Halo name, despite it only being one platform.
I know the bungie that developed Destiny 2, is very different than the one bungie, I used to Love and follow religiously. As when I go back and watch the old vidoc’s, that showed the game developers looking so happy, and emiting such passion on screen, to them now being, so void of enthusiasm and with no confidence in their work or product.
I always hear a lots of points, that the issues that exist with destiny, were caused entirely by activision, or entirely by bungie, but I think the real answer exist somewhere in the middle. I blame activision for the initial upset at bungie, that saw the heartbreaking departure of Joseph Staten and Marty O’Donnell, and the cutting of content, and lack of story upon initial release. But I blame no one, but bungie, for their lack of ability, to realize what fans liked about Destiny, and for trying to push sneaky practices into the game, and for prioritizing Eververse, without any realization of the self damage and destruction, that they would do to both their own company name, as well as the name of their most important IP.
At this point, I honestly don’t see the destiny name ever recovering, and I don’t see Destiny 3 ........
