Recently we saw that BMW had filed a patent for an unusual aero system intended to create downforce in corners, and now the company has filed another patent that serves the same purpose but through very different means and this patent is aimed at the M 1000 RR AND S 1000 RR.
The patent proposes changing traditional static winglets, which have recently become increasingly common on superbikes, into active winglets. The idea behind it is that static components stabilize the motorbike when going straight and provide more grip, but when cornering the air flow becomes strange.
