The Meaning of: Anu, Anum, or Ilu Akkadian: 𒀭𒀭 DAN), also called An Sumerian: 𒀭 AN, of 𒀭 an “Sky”, “Heaven.” The clear meaning of the name or title Anu, @AncientMysteryChannel known to be the Sky god and father of the Anunnaki gods, also known as the Seven gods of fate and destiny.
Anu's wife in the most primal Sumerian documents is the goddess Uraš, but she is later found in the goddess Ki and, in Akkadian texts, she becomes the dark goddess Antu, whose name is a refined feminine form of Anu. The original name Anu, in fact, belonged to Ana; referring to Healing waters.
