Radio personality, music historian, author & TV One Unsung contributor Marcus Chapman hosts the Saturday night 6 to 10 show with Dr. Luv on Chicago urban contemporary station 107.5 WGCI November 14, 1998. Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes of the group TLC calls at around the 31 minute mark of the clip.
"This night was pretty significant for me. The interview with Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes was totally unexpected, and only the 2nd real interview I ever conducted (Ice Cube on June 20, 1998 was the first). I specifically recall the contest at the end of the show taking forever. After this show was over I made my first paid public appearance as a WGCI personality when I hosted the party at Fun Harbor in Waukegan. I loved the energy that came from hosting a party after finishing a radio show. I never hosted the Waukegan party again, but a few weeks later I became one of the hosts for the biggest weekly Saturday night party in Chicago for the young, hip, mostly African-American crowd at the River West Brewery. I did return to Waukegan two more times, including a few nights after this, but for more personal reasons."-MC
