This is my first attempt at carving letters on a bandsaw. I should have used a smaller width blade in the bandsaw, but this one was all I had. I'm really happy with how this turned out - especially for a first attempt!
The letters are pine scrap I had from a pantry shelf I made a while back, the back is some cutoffs of quarter sawn white oak from my desk project. The oak came from Exotic Lumber in Frederick, MD. If you're in the area, they're great give them a look.
This video is dedicated to my good friend Jackson, who absolutely loved building things, especially things to give to his friends and loved ones. We used to talk about our maker projects and ideas, and which videos we were watching on youtube. The weekend I cut these letters last September, I was sending him pics of my progress and he was sending me pictures of a kitchen island he was building. Tragically on Sunday afternoon that same weekend, his life was cut short at 25 when he was hit by a drunk driver. These cutout letters sat on the shelf for months until I was able to bring myself to mount them to the back piece and finish the project.

The sign is a great addition to my basement game room.
