Several students and teachers of Bangalore University have protested the construction of a new temple at the campus of Bangalore University. Students argue that a new library and other facilities, rather than a new temple, would be more beneficial to them. The Karnataka Minister and the MLA of RR Nagar are now planning to hold a meeting to resolve and discuss this deadlock. The minister has also written a letter to the VC of Bengaluru University about it. VC On the issue says that we are not constructing any new temple on the premises of the Bengaluru temple. In 1993, the VC reserved 1.3acres of land for the construction of the temple. BBMP and then-Gov 2002 have given permission to construct the temple
