This was our first winter snow for 2020 in Bucharest, technically was still Autumn as it was on 30th November, but for the sake of one day lets say Winter, just in case anyone corrects me on that!
Was not huge snow, they forecast 5-6cms, then 10-12cms on the ground and maybe we ended up with 2-3cms on the ground in the city that is. I didn't go out of Bucharest that day, because even 15 minutes further out to Pantelimon and the park and lake on the border with Ilfov, you will get much more on the ground as its more exposed.
Anyway, the first snow is always nice to see and for me the snow and the whiteness is refreshing and beautiful. This time was probably sleeting most of the time or 'lapovita' in Romanian, mix of rain, snow, ice, but still nice. I hope we get more in 2020, as 2019 was a pretty warm winter and only about 5 snow days from memory.
I wanted to get out and drive to experience the changes in driving conditions after 1 day of snow. Obviously becomes more slippery and less traction and also if you are driving along tram tracks, best trick is to keep wheels either side as the tracks are very slippery.
Any videos I may upload in December 2020, I am going to wish everyone Craciun Fericit! (Merry Christmas), God Bless, stay safe and all the best for 2021, lets hope we all have a better year.
