(MDCT, multislice CT, multisection CT, multidetector CT, multidetector-row CT)
A form of computed tomography (CT), which a two-dimensional array of detector elements replaces the linear array of detector elements used in typical conventional and helical CT scanners.
The images can be acquired simultaneously at greatly increased speeds. The reconstruction of the image is more complicated than that in single section CT.
