One-year insights from the bRIGHT registry, detailing real-world results of tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) using the Triclip (Abbott) system point to a “promising” future for transcatheter tricuspid repair.This is among the takeaways from Philipp Lurz (Leipzig, Germany), who presented insights from the registry at PCR London Valves (27–29 November, London, UK), where he spoke to Cardiovascular News about bRIGHT and the tricuspid field at large.“The clinical need to offer patients with tricuspid regurgitation something that is less invasive is tremendous,” says Lurz.Reflecting on the important messages from the one-year bRIGHT data, Lurz notes that the majority of the patients treated had massive or torrential tricuspid regurgitation (TR), with the data pointing toward a TR reduction to moderate or less in more than 80% of patients. “This suggests that the early result is maintained through one year of follow up,” comments Lurz.
