What's that ruffle? Today, we are going to look inside 15th century clothing and explore this really cool detail! I've been noticing some unique medieval dress details, and the ruffled kirtle is no exception. These dresses are found in Flemish artwork from the 15th century, and I think they are just lovely! But what is that ruffle anyway? We are exploring this detail while working on a pink medieval dress - which will soon be part of my medieval strawberry dress - hood and outer gown coming soon!
