Ep. 15 Knocking out 4 fall mosaics, starting a portrait commission, visiting a collector, zinnias and the angler mosaic!
Autumn themed wood cutout are an easy way to get started in mosaics, especially if you use glass tiles! And I start on a commissioned portrait by sealing the wood base with diluted Weldbond and adhering the image. I always start with the eyes, using tweezers to manipulate the tiny slivers of glue covered grout. Then an update on my son's angler as he started on the background!
Then watch as I put together a gorgeous pumpkin from fun tiles and grout all four cutouts with brown velvet sanded grout. The final touch includes painting the bases and adding quotes to the back with gold pen. Lastly, I make a bit of progress on the portrait.
BONUS: A visit to a collector's home and see a few works of my art!
EXTRA BONUS: I cut the last good zinnias and make an airy arrangement for my kitchen.
