In this video, I talk about the “French” we use that makes no sense in actual French, and the English that French people use that sounds equally weird to us. Specifically, I’ll be looking at the history of terms like "à la mode," “touché,” and “maître d’” in English and “le smoking,” “le basket,” and “le footing” in French.
