A short timelapse video on the Falkirk wheel in Scotland. This replaced a section of eleven locks with a unique and ingenious construction.
It uses Archimedes principle and cogs in a very clever way to rotate two water-fileld sections, raising one and lowering the other by 24m (79ft). Very little energy is needed as the weight of each section is identical.
Shot using a GoPro camera taking two photos per minute, sped up roughly 12 times.
